Leaked LG G3 screenshots show new UI



Flat is in, especially when it comes to modern smartphone interfaces. After Apple, Samsung and HTC, it appears that LG is also joining the bandwagon, making the Android skin featured in its flagship smartphone, flatter and brighter.

According to a report by Digital Trends, the user interface of LG G3, LG's next-generation flagship phone, has got a major makeover. The publication claims to have received screenshots of the phone's UI from a 'trusted industry source.'

The alleged screenshots feature flatter icons for app shortcuts. The settings toggles located in the notifications tray also feature flat and round icons similar to the ones found in the Samsung Galaxy S5. The tray appears to be translucent unlike the one found on the LG G2 and LG's existing phones.


The report also mentions that the phone will come with a personalized assistant that may be called 'concierge.' The tool will collect information from different sources and on offer recommendations based on the usage of the phone. It adds that the tool will go beyond Google Now.

LG is expected to launch G3 smartphone in June this year. The device is said to have display resolution of 2560x1440p, run on a 64-bit processor and 16MP rear camera. It is expected to be powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. Other rumoured specifications include 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, and microSD expansion. Powered by Android 4.4 (KitKat), the smartphone is expected to have connectivity options like 4G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
