N'Djamena is the capital and largest city of Chad and the violence existing in this city can be understood with just one incident- the Bureau of Consular affairs came up with a travel warning to the country of Chad, and as per the warning none of the government employees can travel outside the city of N'DJamena. In the year 1979, during the Chadian Civil War the city was partly destroyed and again in 1980. During this time, almost all of the population left the time.
